Trust-Based Relational Intervention: Correcting
Are you a parent, educator, or youth development professional looking to grow from Trauma-Informed to providing Trauma-Informed Care but haven’t learned the skills or tactics involved? In this session you will learn about the TBRI principle of correcting. When a child’s behavior becomes challenging, caregivers often seeking out optimal ways to deescalate the situation and correct behavior. In this session we will discuss how to address behavioral issues by recognizing how trauma affects the brain. We will also discuss the IDEAL response and levels of response strategies that help caregivers effectively respond to behavior in a positive and proactive way. This course is for adults working or living with children and/or youth. TBRI is a trauma informed care model out of Texas Christian University’s Karyn Purvis Institute for Child Development. All facilitators have been trained as TBRI Practitioners. CEU’s provided upon request.
