Whether you have 1 hour or 4 hours, we have one-time volunteer opportunities that can accommodate your schedule.

Our one-time volunteer opportunities are a perfect way to make a meaningful impact in the lives of local students—no long-term commitment required. Whether you’re helping at a school supply drive, supporting a special event, lending a hand on campus, or helping students expand their horizons, your time and energy contribute to creating a brighter future for San Antonio’s youth.

Communities in Schools of San Antonio - Volunteer: Reading Day

Reading Day

Get students excited about reading by participating in a Reading Day. Reading days typically begin with “coffee talk” with campus administration and are followed by four 15-minute classroom rotations. Volunteers read a book and engage in conversations to inspire students to read and build their knowledge. This is typically a two-hour event.

Ideal for a group

STEM Family Night

Volunteer with our team during a STEM Family Night, where students experience hands-on activities involving science, technology, engineering, and math. This is typically a two-hour event.

Organize a Drive

Fulfill our students’ basic needs throughout their school year by organizing a drive. Our kids need items such as school uniforms, coats, shoes, hygiene products, blankets, and other items to keep them focused in school.

Holiday Giving

Provide gifts and meals to students who would otherwise go without during the holidays. Get involved by collecting coats, food baskets or presents.
