  7. STEM at CIS-SA

Launched in 2014, STEM at Communities In Schools of San Antonio has served tens of thousands of students and family members through enrichment activities, field trips, and school-wide STEM events.

Read below to see how you can bring STEM to your campus! Huge thank you to Rackspace Foundation and Toyota for your contribution to the 2025 – 2026 STEM Program.

STEM Family Events

Engage your whole school with hands-on academic activities for families to explore together at a STEM or STEAM event on your campus. Save your school time and money with ready-to-go STEM kits for up to 250 participants, aligned to classroom standards and guaranteed to build excitement and awareness of STEM. Each activity has a real-world career connection and covers topics such as biology, chemistry, aerospace, technology, art & design, robotics, mathematics, as well as mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering.

Between 2022 and 2025, 150 STEM Family Nights were hosted, with the assistance of over 3,300 volunteers, and attended by more than 20,000 participants.

On-Campus STEM Sessions

CISSA Site Coordinators can request that the STEM Program Coordinator bring a STEM activity to their campus. Sessions include topics such as Circuitry, Micropipette Art,  Coding Robots, and Geom-art-ry,
