Celebrating Community, Connection, and Impact
Throughout the year, Communities In Schools of San Antonio hosts a series of signature events that bring together community leaders, organizations, and supporters to celebrate our mission and deepen our impact. These events are more than just gatherings—they are powerful moments of inspiration, recognition, and community building. From honoring student achievements to raising critical support for our programs, each event plays a vital role in helping us surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Join us as we celebrate the heart of our work—our students and the community that lifts them up.
40th Anniversary Gala
This year, Communities In Schools of San Antonio proudly celebrates 40 years of standing beside students and families. To honor this milestone, we are hosting a special 40th Anniversary Gala in place of our annual Keeping Kids In School Luncheon.
This milestone event will bring together more than 500 community members — including corporate and school partners, elected officials, and friends — to celebrate four decades of impact and the champions who make it possible. Together, we’ll reflect on our legacy, honor the stories of students whose futures have been shaped by CIS-SA, and look ahead to the many futures still to come.
Your participation helps sustain vital services for students across San Antonio — ensuring every young person, regardless of zip code or circumstance, has the support needed to stay in school and achieve in life.

Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive
The Communities In Schools of San Antonio’s annual Stuff The Bus School Supply Drive provides free school supplies to thousands of underserved students and families throughout the school year.
Back-to-school expenses can be difficult for many San Antonio families as some students cannot get all the supplies they need on their required school supply list. We invite YOU to get involved to ensure EVERY student has the tools they need for school! We have three convenient ways to get involved. See more information below to join us in supporting students within our community! This campaign begins in mid-June and ends at the beginning of August.
Three Ways to Get Involved
1. Raise Funds Online
Want to get your company or organization involved? Register and receive a unique fundraising page link to share with your colleagues, customers, or others in your network.
2. Collect School Supplies In Person
Invite your network to donate supplies by placing a collection bin in your office! Supplies must be turned in by a designated day, the first week of August.
3. Volunteer on Stuff The Bus Day
Typically, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the first Saturday of August, CIS-SA staff and volunteers will invite H-E-B customers to join the cause and donate supplies as part of their shopping experience.
Whole Child Whole Community Conference
Each year in November, non-profit leaders, youth-serving staff, educators, counselors, and community leaders gather at the Whole Child Whole Community Conference hosted by Communities In Schools of San Antonio.
Over 200 participants gathered to learn from experts and community leaders about how to build relationships with students and families to unlock their potential, create spaces to promote healing and mindfulness, celebrate exemplary commitments to kids, and become advocates to foster belonging in schools and beyond. Join us for a day dedicated to learning, community building, and wellness!
