The Benefits of Mindfulness for Mental Health

Life can be full of many challenges, both positive and negative, which can make one feel an abundant amount of stress. This hour-long training takes a look at how the adoption of mindfulness practices can allow individuals to detach from life’s demands, even if just briefly, so they can reconnect and manage these challenges with confidence. A brief overview of mental health and mental illness will be covered as well as the common mental illnesses that youth are experiencing. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a mindfulness activity and participate in discussions on how mindfulness has been shown to help individuals, especially our youth, manage stress, anxiety and depression. This training will be in person at 1045 Cheever Blvd, Suite 201- The Training Lab.
